Areas of Competition

The Northeast Galaxy Pageant is a traditional beauty pageant for women of all nations who are ages 6-older. Areas of competition include:  Photogenic, Private Interview, Fashion, Swimsuit (Teen-Mrs.), and Evening Gown.  Each area of competition is equally weighted. 

PHOTOGENIC
Little Miss - Jr. Miss (25%)
Teen - Mrs. (20%)

Galaxy Pageants, Inc. relies heavily upon international advertising in industry publications and the internet to promote the Galaxy Pageant.  Therefore, titleholders must possess photogenic appeal and ability to project an image consistent with beauty and elegance.

 

Photo requirements:

* B&W or Color photo of your choice

* At least 5X7, no larger than 8X10

* Formal attire

   (e.g., cocktail dress, evening gown, dressy pants outfit, "after 5")

* Headshot or 3/4 length shot

* Must be of good quality and clarity.

* Airbrushing should be kept to a minimum.  You should look like your photo.

Must submit a copyright release if required by her photographer. 
 

Judging criteria:  photogenic appeal, photo quality and clarity, beauty of face and figure, personality, grooming and fashion sense.

 

First photo entry is included in entry fee. May submit to 3 additional photos (4 in total) for $15 each additional photo.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Contestants who enter more than one photo will not necessarily score higher in photogenic than contestants who opt to submit one photo. This is not a quanity competition, but rather quality. If you are having a difficult time deciding on a picture, you may submit more! (each addtional photo entry will be $15) Photo with highest score will count towards State Title.

EVENING GOWN
Little Miss - Jr. Miss (25%)
Teen - Mrs. (20%)
SWIMSUIT (20%)
Teen - Mrs. Only

Galaxy International Pageant® titleholders must carry themselves with dignity, grace, poise and elegance.  Judges will not be evaluating the cost or designer label of the gown, but rather how well it suits the delegate (e.g., fit, color, style) as well as delegate's on-stage presentation.

 

* Evening gown must be floor length.

 

Judging criteria:  modeling, personality, beauty, grooming and fashion sense.

 

 

 

INTERVIEW
Little Miss - Jr. Miss (25%)
Teen - Mrs. (20%)

Galaxy Pageant titleholders must be articulate with excellent social and conversational skills. Titleholders must be able to express themselves clearly, diplomatically, and must project a pleasant personality at all times.

 

Interviews are conducted panel style for a duration of 5 minutes.  Focuses primarily on delegates' personal information (e.g., hobbies, ambition, etc.) but may include opinion questions that require general knowledge of social and current events.

 

Wear a dress, cocktail suit, or pantsuit for the interview competition.

 

Judging criteria:  conversational skill, personality, demeanor, beauty, grooming, and fashion sense.

 

 

FASHIONWEAR
Little Miss - Jr. Miss (25%)
Teen - Mrs. (20%)

Galaxy International Pageant® titleholders must be able to project their own personal sense of style. This segment will be conducted very much like a runway fashion show. Fashion attire can be anything the delegate feels represents a currently popular or stylish ensemble. Judges will be looking for high energy, spirit, and the delegate's sense of contemporary style for today's woman. Judges are not looking for a specific style or designer label but rather how well the attire suits the delegate (e.g., fit, color, style) as well as delegate’s on-stage presentation. 

 

Competition details:

* Attire is dressy-casual and may be a dress or pants outfit - NO FULL-LENGTH EVENING GOWNS should be worn as Fashionwear!

* Delegates are encouraged to accessorize- no props allowed.

* Bare midriffs are acceptable but must be tasteful and complement size and figure.

* Very casual attire (e.g., shorts, jeans, dockers) is not recommended.

 

Judging criteria:  modeling, personality, beauty, grooming and fashion sense.

Galaxy Pageant titleholders must exemplify a lifestyle of good physical, emotional and intellectual health.  Winners should be physically fit, with good muscle tone and body proportion.  Galaxy titleholders must carry themselves with confidence and grace.

 

Delegates will model a 1-piece or 2-piece swimsuit.

Swimsuit may have cut-outs, mesh, and/or embellishments.

 

Judging criteria:  fitness, modeling, personality, beauty, grooming and fashion sense.
